Dust to Dust
Dust to DustThis is one of my early self portrait pieces. I had this idea to make an image of a man that is turning smoke. We don't know exactly why or how. Is he transporting to somewhere? Is someone doing this to him or is he doing it to himself? Basically, I just wanted to create something with very simple lighting that I could digitally manipulate to tell a story that you have to decide for yourself. This image spawned a series of other images of people turning into smoke.
To See Your World
To See Your WorldThe second installment to Dust to Dust features a girl this time. This one is perhaps a bit less calm looking than the first. It appears we are a bit farther into the "transformation."
In a Grain of Sand
In a Grain of SandFor the next installment of the series I wanted to create one where the disintegration was not as far along and the smoke was just starting to slowly fall off of him. Also I like that you don't really know if he is floating up, our dropping down. I realize more and more with each picture I make that I LOVE PLAYING WITH LIGHT!
Heaven in a Wildflower
Heaven in a WildflowerI decided to add little teal into the collection. By that I mean Sara, (my fiancee) had this dress that flowed really nicely and it happened to be teal. It was a lot of fun creating the transition from hair to smoke.
Hold Infinity
Hold InfinityThis is the adorable little Maxwell Mintegui, he is my best friend Veronica's youngest. (Seriously people she and her husband Ocsar make the cutest tiny humans!) They were here doing a photo shoot and Oscar so graciously threw Max into the air several times for me! I thought it would be interesting to have baby in the series, so here he is!
In The Palm Of Your Hand
In The Palm Of Your HandOne of the ideas I had from the beginning of this series was to create an image in which the person was split in half. You can see a speed edit in this article I wrote for inmybag.net
